Hazel Lillian Hill
1921-2017
Hill, Hazel Lillian, Great Village, Col. Co., passed away Wednesday, March
1, 2017 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, in her 96th year,
with her family at her side. Born in South Maitland, she was a daughter of
the late John and Lillian (Baxter) Robinson. Hazel was a member of St. James
United Church Great Village and a member of the U.C.W. She was a founding
member of the Great Village Garden Club and a member of the Cavell Rebekah
Lodge No. 72. Hazel considered her family her greatest treasure. In her life
she was always willing to take up the cause of anyone in need with anything
she could do. Hazel was talented, intelligent and had a keen wit. Her love
of music was boundless. For years Hazel contributed a column to the Shore
Line Journal. Hazel loved beauty: in nature, arts and creation. Always a
lady, Hazel was dressed for each day with her hair done and wearing her
beads. Hazel was an excellent cook and enjoyed all types of handiwork. Each
day mum counted her blessings. Her faith and trust in God was strong. For a
life well lived and lessons well taught we thank you mum.
She is survived by sons, Carleton MacLean (Thelma) of Sheet Harbour, Robert
Hill (Betty) of Great Village, Ferguson Hill (Ter) of Scottsdale, Arizona;
daughter Martha Hill of Winnipeg, MB; her treasured grandchildren and great
grand-children; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband Daniel MacLean; her second husband
Erle Merton Hill; grandchildren Lisa Ann, Andrew; brothers, Wesley, Vincent,
Marvin; sisters, Jean, Mary. She was the last surviving member of her
immediate family.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements have been entrusted to

service will take place on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 2:00 pm. Burial
