Edna M. Hatfield
1916-2017
It is with deep sorrow that we the family announce the death of Edna M.
Hatfield on Feb. 24, 2017.
Born in 1916, she was the the last member of her family.
She was predeceased by our eldest son Gary while he was serving in the Air
Force.
She is survived by myself, her husband Ralph and our children Brian (Ann),
Bruce, Gregory (Noelene), Kentley, Vikki (Jim) as well as many grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
Edna was a veteran of the Second World War and was very proud that six
members of our family have served Canada for 138 combined years, including
Edna's time in the Air Force. She was a graduate nurse, a wonderful wife,
mother, cook and for many years both mother and father while I was a
commercial traveler. She loved to dance, play cards, darts and bingo.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St.,
Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where cremation has taken place. There will be
no visitation or service at this time. A graveside service will be held at a
later date.
We wish to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at High Crest
Nursing Home for their professional care, always with love and tenderness.
Edna considered you as family. Thanks also to Dr. J. A. Karivelli for his
many years of care, tenderness and understanding.
If so desired, donations in Edna's memory may be made to High Crest Nursing
Home.
Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
Edna's online memorial through the A H Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page, or
at www.brownsfuneralhome.com.
Goodbye my loving wife Edna. Much love from our children who will remember
your loving care, kindness and discipline when needed. Rest in peace. Your
long period of suffering is over. God Bless.
