Obituary of Geraldine Duffy
Duffy, Geraldine Olga, a resident of Chatham. Geraldine Duffy died Friday
March 21, 2014 at Riverview Gardens, Chatham at the age of 90. Born in
Stellarton, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late Johann Jozef & Ivy Olivia
(Olive) Schijns. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Edward Duffy(1990). Dear
mother of Ronna (Reg) Everitt, Chatham; Colleen (Barry) Dickson, Chatham;
Joan (the late Paul, 2008) MacDonald, Blenheim; and Michael (Deb) Duffy,
Oklahoma. Grandmother of several grandchildren, great grandchildren and
great great grandchildren. Predeceased by one grandson Joseph Patrick
McIntyre (1972). Sister of the late Orlando John Schijns; Ferdinand Antony
Schijns; Edward James Schijns and Lydia Marie Maxwell. Also survived by
several nieces and nephews. Geraldine was a Veteran of WW II, a member of
the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28 and a retiree of the Public General
Hospital, Chatham. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St.
Clair St., Chatham on Monday March 24, 2014 from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
A Legion Memorial Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home Monday
evening at 6:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral
Home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bill Capitano officiating. Interment
St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham. Donations in memory of Geraldine to the Heart
& Stroke Foundation or Charity of Choice would be appreciated. Online
