Rev. C. Maynard Rector
1935-2017
The death of Rev. C. Maynard Rector of Florenceville-Bristol, NB
occurred on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Upper River Valley
Hospital, Waterville, NB. Born November 24, 1935 in Springhill, NS, he
was predeceased by his mother, Eileen Rector Veniott and his
stepfather, Otto Veniott.
Maynard spent 44 years of his life serving others. Beginning in 1962
he served in the Derby Pastoral Charge, NB and then spent time in
Northport, NS, Saltsprings, Merigomish, Alma, NS before becoming
ordained in 1970 in to the United Church of Canada. After studying at
Mount Allison University and Pine Hill Divinity Hall, Maynard took
positions at Oak Bay, NB, Oxford, NS, Hartland/Jacksonville, NB and
Andover/Kincardine, NB Pastoral Charges. After his ministry, Maynard
was made Minister Emeritus at Faith Memorial United Church in
Florenceville, NB.
Maynard was a Paul Harris Fellow of the Florenceville Rotary Club,
Life Member of Pine Hill Alumni and Branch 24 of the Royal Canadian
Legion in Hartland. He championed Palliative Care efforts in the River
Valley, supported numerous community groups in the Charges he served
and sat on the Boards of Extra Mural and AIDS NB.
Maynard is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years,
Marjorie; 2 sons, Andrew Rector (Nancy) and Jeff Rector (Cortney);
chosen son, Stephen Crossman (Debbie); 5 grandchildren, Josh, Jake,
Evan, Maya and Jackson; 3 chosen grandchildren, Jennifer, Diana and
Ellen; 1 chosen great grandson, Amias; 1 brother, Robert

Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-7
pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2:00
pm from Faith Memorial United Church, 175 Burham Rd.
Florenceville-Bristol. Rev. Susan Estabrooks and Rev. Michael
Goodfellow will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the
Mapleton Cemetery, Nova Scotia. For those who wish, donations can be

VENIOTT, Roxanna "Eileen"
VENIOTT, Roxanna "Eileen" - 90, High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill, passed
away on Friday, December 9, 2005, in the home. Born in Southampton, she was
a daughter of the late Arthur and Laura (Churchill) Rector. She was a member
of the St. Andrews-Wesley United Church, Springhill, and a long-time
employee of Cecil Letcher and Sons Garage. She enjoyed music, dancing and
bowling. She is survived by sons, Maynard (Marjorie) Rector, Perth-Andover,
N.B.; Robert Veniott (Linda Aremburg), Amherst; grandchildren, Andrew
(Nancy) Rector, Jeff (Courtney) Rector, Danny Veniott (Stacey Andrecyk),
Heather Veniott (Gerald Gallagher); great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua,
Evan, and Brooke; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her
husband, Otto Dan Veniott; sister, Bessie Elizabeth; brothers, Leonard and
Lloyd. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Sunday in A.H. Brown Funeral Home,
Springhill, where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today, Rev. Bob
Mack officiating. Burial in Mapleton Cemetery, Mapleton. Donations made to a
charity of choice would be appreciated.
