Peter Anthony VanderFeer
Peter A. VanderFeer, 84, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton
Hospital on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Born in Renous, he was the son of
the late Anthony and Ruby (Joyce) VanderFeer. Peter was a retired machinist
with CNR having over 35 years service and was a member of First Baptist
Moncton. He was a member of the Maritime Federation of Model Railroaders,
was an avid hobbyist and collector, having a passion for coin and stamp
collecting. Peter enjoyed photography and was a lifelong dog lover.
Peter will be sadly missed by his loving daughter, Debbie VanderFeer of
Moncton; grandson, Devon Kearns (Kim) of Edmonton, AB; sister, Peggy Gallant
of North Bay, ON; several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to
his parents, Peter was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Catherine
Alberta (Kay) VanderFeer (Feb. 2008); sisters, Marion and Dorothy.
A Celebration of Life Service for Peter will be held at Fergusons Funeral
Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday, November 5,
2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Delbert Bannister officiating. Interment, to be
held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter¹s memory can be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. Online

Catherine Alberta VanderFeer, wife of Peter
Catherine Alberta (Kay) VanderFeer 1928 - 2008 The death of Catherine
Alberta VanderFeer, wife of Peter, of Winchester Ave Moncton occurred at The
Moncton Hospital on Sunday February 10th, 2008. Born in Moncton on July
27th, 1928 Kay was the daughter of the late Lee and Delta (Mitton) Taylor.
Kay had worked for many years as a Legal Stenographer and since her
retirement she was very active volunteering her time with the Karing
Kitchen, Spencer Memorial Home; she had spent over 17 years volunteering
with The Moncton Hospital and was very proud to receive a watch and plaque
marking 5000 hours of volunteer time at the hospital. Kay was a life long
member of First United Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a
member of the Zella Clarke Women's Missionary Group. Kay is survived by her
husband of 55 years, Peter; their daughter, Debbie VanderFeer of Moncton;
her grandson, Devon and his wife Kim (Matteson) Kearns of Edmonton; her
sister-in-law, Peggy, of North Bay; two special nieces, Kathy McGinn and
Chris Murray; her beloved dog MacDuff; as well as several nieces and
nephews. In keeping with Kay's wishes cremation has taken place and visiting
hours with the family will be on Wednesday February 13th, from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 at Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton. Her
funeral service will be held Thursday February 14th at 11:00 o'clock at
First United Baptist Church, Church Street Moncton. Interment will be in
Fairhaven Cemetery. Donations in Kay's memory may be made to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. Arrangements are under the direction of
Cadman Bowness Funeral Home (857-1110) 114 Alma Street Moncton.
