Obit: BROWN, Loralyn "Lolly" Elizabeth [nee MacCALLUM]

Loralyn "Lolly" Elizabeth (MacCallum) Brown
1959-2017

On February 23, 2017, Loralyn Elizabeth "Lolly" (MacCallum) Brown of
Springhill lost a short and tragic stricken battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Taken away too early from us, she leaves behind a small, close knit group of
family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by her life partner Darold Scott of Springhill,
her children Sarah Brown (Matthew) of Springhill, Christopher Brown (Sarah)
of Oxford, her step children Paul Scott (Chrissy) of Springhill, and Allison
Thompson (Steven) of Halifax; grandchildren Corey, Kyle, Holly, Tyler,
Chase, Carter, Carly, Ryker and Sadie; beloved fur babies Grayson and Tonka;
brother and sister in law Murray and Linda Scott; close friends Trish and
Olwyn and the cottage family of Cloverdale Road and several cousins.

Born September 5, 1959 in Springhill as an only child to Shirley MacCallum.
She was a wonderful extrovert with family and friends and showed a great
passion to anything she had interest in. Any place was adventure to her,
being involved in reenactments, dressing and living the life in a 1700's
style, wood walks and marksmanship. To walking on the beach gathering sea
glass and small stones to trekking through the woods, listing off the names
and types of trees as she walked by them. Later on, her imagination would be
the adventure when her grandchildren were born. She vowed to be the "fun"
grandmother. She had a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife, and knew
her way around any black powder gun, axe, chainsaw, or sewing machine when
the time called for it. Her humour was her best coping skill, medicine, and
lightening of subject no matter how hard times were. Of course these things
changed with MS, and she would often reminisce about past moments and times.
With the love and support of Darold, Sarah, the Palliative Care Team, VON
and Continuing Care home care, she was able to stay at home throughout the
process of the disease.

Predeceased by her mother Shirley, grandparents Clyde, and Laura Dickie, and
father Edward MacCallum.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A H Brown Funeral Home,
Springhill, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361), where cremation
has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Donations in memory of Lolly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name
would be appreciated, so give generously with your heart. To those living
with this disease, never lose hope.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
Lolly's online memorial at www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the A H
Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
