OBITUARY: Cyril V. Murphy
Port Williams - Cyril Vincent Murphy, 49, of Belcher Street, Port Williams,
died Monday in Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital, Wolfville.
Born in Wolfville, he was the son of Mrs. Clara (Krumroi [sic]) Murphy and
the late Frank Murphy.
He owned and operated the Village Rite-Way store in Port Williams. He was a
member of Port Williams Fire Department and was fire chief for seven years.
He was a member of the United Church of St. Paul and St. Stephen, Kentville.
Surviving besides his mother, are his wife, the former Melba Cogswell; two
sons, Terry, Kentville; Stephen, at home; six brothers, Reginald, Dartmouth;
Roy, Wolfville; Paul, Merritt Island, Fla.; George, Halifax; Avard, Miami,
Fla.; Eric, Wolfville; a sister, Louise (Mrs. Walter Davidson), New Minas.
He was predeceased by a brother, Vernon.
The body is at H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville. Funeral service will be
held Wednesday at 2 p.m., in the United Church of St. Paul and St. Stephen,
Kentville, Rev. Donald Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Willowbank
Cemetery, Wolfville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Arthritis and
Rheumatism Society.
