Obituary -1983- Fred A Johnson

Oxford- Fred A. Johnston, 84,of Oxford ,died Monday in All Saints Hospital, Springhill.
Born in Salem, he was a son of the late Hazen and Mary (Rogerson) Johnston.
During the First World War, he served with the 106th Battalion,transferring to the 26th Battalion.
During the Second World War, he served with the North Novas.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion’s Oxford branch,Knights of Pythias, the Masonic Lodge, and Oxford Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Millar; two daughters, Eleanor (Mrs. Helmot Kamyszek),Winnipeg, and Barbara (Mrs. Ronald Rockwell, Wisconsin: two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Walsh and Mrs. George Langille, both of Amherst; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body is in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, Oxford. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Oxford Baptist Church. Lic. Raeburn MacNeil officiating, with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cumberland County.
