OBITUARY: Victor L. Elliott
Victor L. (Shaw) Elliott, 78, died Tuesday, April 8th, in the Parrsboro
Hospital.
Born in Fox River, he was a son of the late Oden and Agusta (Grant) Elliott.
He was a veteran of the First World War and was a lighthouse keeper at Apple
River and Cape Sharp. He was a provincial government land surveyer and a
member of the Oddfellows Lodge.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Daisy Holt, are six daughters,
Rosemary (Mrs. Owen Mathews), Joan (Mrs. Roy McWhirter), both of Parrsboro;
Mrs. Nita Allen, Port Greville; Helen, St. Catherine's, Ont.; Heather (Mrs.
Peter Haba), Medicine Hat, Alta.; Mrs. Judith Mattix, Springhill; two sons,
Victor and Richard, both of Parrsboro; one brother, Herbert, Moncton, N.B.;
two sisters, Mrs. Emma Callahan, Bedford; Suzanne (Mrs. Charles Gates),
North Vancouver, B.C.; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Oden.
The body rested at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service was held
at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Wilfred
Wagner officiated. Burial was in Advocate Cemetery.
