Re: Carlotta Emma (Hatfield) Block

Title: Re: [nscumber] Carlotta Emma (Hatfield) Block
Hi Steve:

The author is George Hatfield Hayward in Fredericton.

The “2nd updated book” [Hatfields of Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, 1783-2007] was published 2007 and is 2” thick, printed both sides with hard cover binding. I think I paid $100.00 for mine.

The actual book is now out of print but I think George still has the book broken into several CD’s which might still be available. The Age of Sail in Ward’s Brook had some of the CD’s for sale last year in their gift shop.

The e-mail address in the book for George is <ghayward@...>

Thanks Dave

Yep, I know that path.

Another question, where can a person obtain a copy of the "Hatfield Book". I seen many references to it, but have never found it locally.

Hi Steve:

Neither did I see you! Must have been the balmy +8 degrees were having and my back window was foggy.

For the 4th child, I have a Bernard Imbert Hatfield, born Aug 1879, died 17 Jun 1884, both in Brookville.

>From Capt. Charles Hatfield’s m/1 to Almira Elizabeth Spicer, I have a daughter, Emma Jane Hatfield, born 11 Mar 1866, died 31 Oct 1877, Charles and Almira split about 1869.

Almira m/2? (haven’t located a marriage record) Capt. William Soley Lorraine from  Onslow. Their last adopted child, Phyllis Antoinette McLellan, a niece (Almira’s sister’s daughter), I think you can find your way from there. The other Lorraine children were: Lillian Bella, Sarah (infancy), George Taylor “Guy”, Harry Spicer, Lorenzo Wrenwick and Olla Mary

Checking the new Hatfield Book, it has Mary R. Block m/1 Rev. Alvin Hammill, a Baptist Minister, with issue of a son, Christopher Hammill.; no other info on them.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Hi Dave

I didn't see you in my rear view mirror when you went by.

Question: Did Captain Charles Hatfield and Mary Dobson have four children?

There is a reference to another male child in the 1881 census, but nothing thereafter.
