Re: John Herbert Bigelow; Spencer's Island related

Title: Re: [nscumber] John Herbert Bigelow; Spencer's Island related
Thanks Bruce. It confirms the years.

William Marsters Bigelow’s death isn’t on the N.S. or N.B. Vitals so although buried in Sackville, N.B., he could have died Stateside and his body returned to Canada.

John Herbert Bigelow BSc, MSc, MBA, Fcic
Obituary
BIGELOW, John Herbert, BSc, MSc, MBA, Fcic - 1918 - 2009 John passed away
peacefully on 1 February 2009 at home at Craigleith, Ontario after a very
long battle with prostate cancer. John was born in Sackville, New Brunswick
on 5 November 1918. He was educated at Mount Allison University, McGill
University and University of Toronto. John married Katherine Jean Shaw who
predeceased him in 1982. He joined the RCAF and served as a Navigation
Officer in WWII. An energetic and generous man, his career was with
Shawinigan Chemicals, Reichhold Chemicals and Texaco Canada. He was a member
of the Royal Canadian Legion in Collingwood, Ontario and had a love of
fishing, sailing and skiing with memberships in the National Yacht Club,
Toronto, Thornbury Yacht Club and Craigleith Ski Club. He was still skiing
at the age of 88. John became a certified scuba diver in his late fifties
and took up golf as an enjoyable but frustrating sport in his late
seventies. He is survived by his children Barbara Dexter (husband Bill),
Bill (wife Judy) and Jan Bigelow (husband Roy Smith), grandchildren Glenn
Bigelow and Valerie Bigelow, loving friend Patricia Walwyn and Cam Pickard,
a friend of 90 years. Many thanks to Dr. M. S. Gandhi, the Collingwood
General and Marine Hospital and the Community Care Access Centre for their
exceptional care. No burial or other services by John's request. Condolences
may be sent to johnhbigelow@...
