A. Joseph "Joe" Cormier
1935-2015
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Aquila Joseph Cormier,
age 80, of Amherst, formerly of Springhill. Joe passed away at the Victoria
General Hospital, in Halifax, NS on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.
Born in Sackville, NB, he was a son of the late Arthur and Adela (Legere)
Cormier.
Joe was an avid bingo player. He loved fishing and spending time outdoors.
He especially loved his pet kitten Fluffy.
He will be dearly missed by his lifelong companion Beverly Bourgeois,
Amherst; son Jody, Alberta; step daughter Glenda Gottschalk, Amherst; step
son John Bourgeois, Amherst; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a triplet to brothers John (Elsie), Saskatchewan and sister
Elizabeth, Moncton; sister Yvonne Stewart, Amherst, brothers Gerry (Arvela),
Lorneville, Billy (Laura), Oshawa; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sister Anita Holland; and brothers Alphonse and
Albert.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS, (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on
Sunday from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at Furlong~Jones
Funeral Home on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the
Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, NS.
