It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Elmore Cecil Gilroy,
age 78, of Fort Lawrence, NS. Elmore passed away at the Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre on Thursday, November 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving
family.

Born in Stanley, Cumb Co., NS, he was a son of the late Cecil and Eva
(Carter) Gilroy.

Elmore was a well known contractor in Cumberland County most of his life.
He loved to camp, boat, water ski, and snowmobile. He and his wife Mary
enjoyed traveling with their fifth wheel. He loved his family, his children
and grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Elizabeth, of Fort Lawrence;
children Katherine (John) Blakeney, Fall River, NS, Rick (Rebecca), Fall
River, NS and Charlene (David) Beekman, Prince George, BC; grandchildren
Hilary, Stephanie, and Laine Marie; sister Helen (Robert) Black, Brookdale,
NS, brother Carl (Joan), Fort Lawrence; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on
Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will take place at
the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 3 pm, Rev.
Lloyd Bruce officiating. Burial will take place in the Fort Lawrence
Cemetery.

Elmore's family extends heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Team and the
VON Home Care Services.

Donations in memory of Elmore may be made to the CRHCC Palliative Care or
the charity of your choice.
