John Buckham "Jack" Seaman – 85, Valley Station, passed away
peacefully Monday, February 7, 2011, at home. Born May 2, 1925, at home in
Valley Station, he was a son of the late John and Esther (Archibald) Seaman.
Jack was a member of Valley (Coldstream) United Church and
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. He was retired from CNR and also served
during the Second World War in Royal Canadian Navy (VR).
Jack is survived by his wife, Lucy (Gamble); daughter, Sylvia
(Kevin) Scott, Debert; grandchildren, John Scott (Lori Talbot), Hilden; David
Scott, Halifax; Tracy Cushing, Halifax; sister, Edith (Bob) Ripley; brother,
Fred Seaman, Valley Station; former daughter-in-law, Vina Seaman, Halifax;
several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his
son, John Lloyd; sister-in-law, Doreen Seaman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral
Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Jack's family will receive friends from 6-8
p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011, and where the funeral service will be held 2
p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, Reverend Sue King-Darby officiating. Reception
will follow. Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, will conduct a tribute service 6
p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the funeral home. Spring interment in
Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in
Jack's memory to Canadian Diabetes Association are welcomed.
