Title: Re: [nscumber] Phyllis Jean (Matheson) Cochrane, Dodsworth, Fullerton
Hi Gerry:

THANK YOU. Ernest Wylie Cochrane and my Grandfather, Charles Ryerson Winter were 1st cousins.

George Ernest Cochrane’s parents possibly went West right after their marriage but had returned to Economy by 18 Sep 1914 for the birth of daughter, Violet Pearl Cochrane.

Several of Ernest Wylie’s brothers also went west around the same time, then Stateside to the New England States.

I have Phyllis m/1 George Ernest Cochrane.

Their marriage record says George Ernest Cochrane was born in Winnipeg,
Manitoba about 1912. This explains why he's not on the NSARM Vitals for Nova
Scotia.

Phyllis Jean Fullerton
Born: April 22, 1917
Died: June 13, 2011

Phyllis Jean Fullerton ‹ Pugwash, It is with sad hearts that we announce
Phyllis¹s passing on June 13, 2011, at age 94 in the East Cumberland Lodge,
Pugwash, NS, where she had been living in recent years. Phyllis was born on
April 22, 1917, in River Philip to the late Netis and Laura Matheson. She
moved to Ontario and worked as assistant manager for Grand & Toy for 23
years in Hamilton and Ottawa.
When she retired to Pugwash in 1978, she followed her passion for doll
collecting and had a new wing built on her home at one time to give her
extra room to display her 500 little ³lovelies.² Before glaucoma levied its
toll, she was a skilled seamstress and knitter. She put these talents to
work outfitting and making dolls to help raise funds for local
organizations. She was also an avid card player, and had a keen mind to
support her many wins from her competitors, especially in cribbage. Many
family and friends enjoyed her magic touch in the kitchen for all things
sweet and savoury alike.
She was a devoted adherent to St. John¹s Presbyterian Church in Pugwash and
a lifetime member of AMS (WMS) of the Presbyterian Church of Canada (Eastern
Division). She also enjoyed memberships in the 50 Plus Club and the Ladies
Auxiliary East Cumberland Lodge.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Wendell Dodsworth; stepchildren Earl
(³Buddy²) Fullerton in Abbotsford, BC, and Isabel Sarson in Bedford, NS;
four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; thirteen
step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and extended family
Esther Langille and Karen MacIntosh. She was predeceased by her husband,
Earl Fullerton in 1997, and stepson Dean Fullerton, and step-granddaughter
Dian Fullerton.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, predeceased by
sisters Ethel, Helen, and Hazel; and brothers Clarence and Douglas.
Heartfelt gratitude goes to Phyllis¹s and our very dear friend Margie
Jamison, whose constant caring presence went above and beyond, always.
Phyllis will be fondly remembered and deeply missed for her generous spirit,
her sharp sense of humour, and her loving support.
In honour of Phyllis¹s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction
of Mundle¹s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506), and there will
be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date in
Thomson Station, Cumberland County, NS.
Donations in Phyllis¹s memory may be made to the East Cumberland Lodge,
Pugwash, NS, B0K 1L0, or to a charity of choice. Private condolences may be
sent to the family by visiting the funeral home website at
