Life Legacy
FIELD, Gloria Belle - 78, Granville Ferry, Annapolis County, passed away
Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Annapolis Royal Nursing Home Respite Care Unit.
Born in Tiverton, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Wintford and Belva
Garron (Outhouse). Gloria was predeceased by her husband Arthur and infant
daughter Belva Glenola, and is survived by daughters Marcia Field (Donnie
Brown) and Marianne (Peter) Lawrence, and son Martin (Brenda) Field; six
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers Wintford, Willard and
Lindon Garron. Cremation has taken place under the care of Serenity Lindsay
Funeral Home, Kentville, N.S. A memorial service will be held on Friday,
April 1, 2011, at two p.m., at the South Range Church of Christ; reception
to follow in the Church hall. Family burial will take place at a later date
in Westport, Brier Island. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia Division. Gloria's family
would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, the VON and
Palliative Care Team, Family First Medical, Hutchin¹s Pharmacy, and all
staff at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their care and compassion
during her illness. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and
direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home & Crematorium, 568 Main St,

Obituary-Field
FIELD, Arthur Stanley - 66, South Range, Digby Co., died September 28, 1996,
in Digby General Hospital. Born in Advocate Harbour, Cumberland Co., he was
a son of Glenola (Morris) Field, Advocate Harbour, and the late Girvin
Field. He graduated from Normal College, Truro, in 1949 and taught school in
Westport for two years. In 1952 he joined the Canadian Army where he served
in the Dental Corps as a dental hygienist and therapist for 27 years. He was
an active member of South Range Church of Christ and a member of the church
choir. He was actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous for many years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Gloria Garron; daughters, Marcia (Mrs.
David McCabe), Alexandria, Ont.; Marianne (Mrs. Peter Lawrence), Granville
Ferry, Annapolis Co.; son, Martin, Ottawa; sister, Laura (Mrs. Nicholas
Smith), Toronto; brother, Corbett, North Port; six grandchildren. He was
predeceased by infant daughter, Belva Glenola; brother, Earle; infant
brother, Noah. Funeral 1 p.m. Tuesday in South Range Church of Christ, Jim
Franklin officiating. Burial in Westport Cemetery. No visitation by request
of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to Maritime Christian College
or Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Jayne's Funeral Home,
Digby.
