Obituary

Harrison, Marilyn Faye

Age 80, of Elmsdale, NS, passed away at the Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial
Building QEII in the early morning hours of Thursday, July 2, 2015 with her
daughter, Karen (Harrison) McCarthy by her side. Faye's passing was the
result of hip fracture complications.

Faye was born in Halifax, NS and was the daughter of the late Albert and
Elizabeth (Risser) Trider.

The most important thing in Faye's life was her family. A devoted wife,
mother and grandmother, known for her ability to make friends anywhere she
went. Faye cared about people and spent her life putting others before
herself. Faye was a strong and determined woman. Although Faye's exit from
this world came too soon, she showed nothing but grace, love and an
incredible inner strength during her illness which amazed all that knew her.
She is at peace now, but will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Faye is survived by her two daughters Karen Lawrence (Harrison) McCarthy
(Bryce), Wendy-Faye (Harrison) Siteman (Elliott), one son, Thomas William
Henry Harrison, Jr., and three grandchildren, Harrison Watson McCarthy,
Vincent Thomas McCarthy and Magdalene Ester Siteman.

Faye was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Thomas William Henry
Harrison, Sr., age 84, son of the late Vincent Parlee Harrison and Abbie
Ester (Lawrence) Harrison. Tom passed away at the QEII Health Sciences
Centre on the morning of May 7, 2012 with wife Faye (Trider) Harrison and
daughter Karen (Harrison) McCarthy by his side. Tom was a devoted husband,
wonderful father and grandfather, with many hobbies and interests. He loved
to cook, garden, do woodworking and paint. He spent his working life as a
graphic artist with the CBC Broadcasting Corporation in Halifax, NS. Tom
also has been and will always be sadly missed.

By request there will be no funeral service, but will have a private
committal service at a later date in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower
Sackville, NS.

The family wishes to express a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to the
nursing staff and physicians who cared for Faye at the Camp Hill Veterans'
Memorial Building in the V3 East restorative care unit. The care and
compassion provided to Faye will never be forgotten. Mom always said how
much she loved you all. Her final journey on this earth was a very difficult
one. Thank you for the peace and comfort you all gave to her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
