Obituary

Stewart, Catherine Anne “Kit” (Huntley), Halifax, passed away Saturday, June
13th. Born in Parrsboro, NS, she was the daughter of the late Charles and
Mary (Macaulay) Huntley. After growing up in Parrsboro, Kit attended the
Mount Allison School for Girls and Mount Allison University with her twin
sister Connie. Upon graduation, she worked for a number of years in Montreal
and in Halifax, the latter where she met her husband Bob, and settled down
to become a homemaker and Mother. Forever proud of her Parrsboro roots and
her ship-building father and grandfather, summers were spent at the Second
Beach in Parrsboro, or later at the cottage in Economy, with many a happy
day at the Parrsboro Golf Club.

She was pre-deceased by her husband R. C. T. (Bob) Stewart, sisters Frances,
Peggy, and brother Rufus. She is survived by her sister Connie, her son
William (Wendy) of Halifax, and grandchildren Scott of Halifax and Erin of
Toronto.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 19th, 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s
Anglican Church Birch Cove, where she was a faithful member for more than 50
years. Burial will be in Shediac N.B. at a later date. Donations in
Catherine’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, St. Peter’s
Anglican Church or a charity of choice.
