Donna R. M. Phinney
1934-2015

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna R. M. (Brown) Phinney
announce her passing on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 at the Cumberland
Regional health Care Centre with her loving family and her faithful pet
Finnigan at her bedside.

Born in Springhill, NS, she was the eldest daughter of the late Harold and
Clara (Brown) Sheriff.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her
brother Harold.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Stephen, Amherst; step-daughter
Debbie, Halifax; brothers Elroy, Amherst and Alton (Shirley), Springhill;
sisters Sharon (Doug) Schiefer, Springhill, Etta (Bill) Briand, Amherst and
Valerie (Ed) Dobson, Springhill as well as numerous nieces and nephews and
their children.

Donna worked for many years in the restaurant/catering service and later in
the marketing of dulse (Sea King Seafoods) with her husband.  In later years
her ill health curtailed most activities although, until recently, she
enjoyed attending the Highway Pentecostal Tabernacle in Parrsboro where she
took pleasure in the fellowship and faith of the congregation.

Donna was dealt hardships with her health but her husband, Stephen and
sister Valerie took loving care of her needs.  Even though not feeling well,
she always welcomed family and friends with warm and caring concern.  Being
the eldest in the family, her siblings looked upon her as their second
mother and she will be missed greatly by them.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St.,
Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will take place on
Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 1 pm until 3 pm, followed immediately at 3 pm
by the funeral service with a reception to follow.  Burial will take place
in the spring in the Mapleton Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Donna may be made to the charity of your choice.

Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Donna's online memorial at
www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the funeral home Facebook page.
