Re: Harriet (Laffin) White

Title: Re: [nscumber] Harriet (Laffin) White

Doing some searching, I’m of the same mindset with Catherine and she would be a “cousin” to the White children not a step-sister.

If she were Hattie’s, Hattie wouldn’t use the name “Catherine” twice in naming her children to my way of thinking.

I believe that Catherine May Tobin (Mrs George Mansfield) was a niece of Harriet Laffin through her sister, Annie Laffin, w/o Nicholas Cornelius Tobin.  While Henry White calls them "stepchildren", they were actually his sister-in-law's children.  I'm not sure yet on William Tobin.

Catherine M Tobin and George Mansfield married 1937 in Cape Breton County

I believe Catherine (Mrs. Mansfield) and William Tobin are from a separate
relationship before Henry Arthur White.

Her hubby refers to both as step-children.
