Elizabeth "Mamie" Hoeg. Maternal ggd/o John Alfred Hoeg and Mary Matilda
"Tildy" Allen from Spencer's Island.

As Mary Elizabeth (White) Blenkhorn has two half-siblings, Catherine and
William, per her obit, either her father or mother must have remarried.

Mr. Avery Delbert Blenkhorn
1915-2009

Avery Delbert Blenkhorn - 94, formerly of New Minas, passed away Monday,
November 16, 2009 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Noel, Hants County, he
was a son of the late Harold and Esther (White) Blenkhorn. He was a veteran
of the Second World War. He enjoyed gardening (especially roses), bowling,
hunting, fishing and trapping. He is survived by sons, Wayne (Debbie), Red
Deer, Alberta; Brian (Valerie), New Minas; a daughter, Linda Reeves, New
Minas; nine grandchildren, Kathy, Jeff, Tina, Mark, Esther, Sarah, Brandi,
Gerry and Chantelle; several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his
wife, Mary (White) and a son-in-law, Walter. There will be no visitation, by
family request. A Royal Canadian Legion service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Friday, November 20, 2009 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A
private family graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday,
November 21, 2009 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County.
Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the
Friends of Dykeland Lodge or the Alzheimer Society. The family would like to
thank the staff of Dykeland Lodge for the care and comfort they provided to
Avery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.

BLENKHORN, Mary Elizabeth, RN, - 79, New Minas, Kings Co., passed away
peacefully Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Bras d'Or, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late Henry and
Harriett (Laffin) White. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
friend. She was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal
Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. She had been employed at
Palmeters Country Home (Evergreen Home for Special Care), Kentville,
retiring after 14 years. She enjoyed bowling and dancing. She is survived by
her husband of 58 years, Avery Blenkhorn; daughter, Linda (Walter) Reeves,
New Minas; sons, Brian (Valerie), New Minas; Wayne (Debbie), Red Deer,
Alta.; sisters, Catherine Luker, Thelma (Clarence) Harrietha, all of Bras
d'Or; Frances (Roy) Barton, London, Ont.; brothers, John (Seila), Kingston;
James (Marg), Sydney Mines; grandchildren, Esther, Sarah, Tina, Mark, Kathy,
Jeff, Brandie, Chantelle, and Gerry; several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by sister, Harriett; brothers, Gordon, George, and Henry;
half-sister, Catherine; half-brother, William. Visitation will be held from
7-9 p.m., with a Royal Canadian Legion service to be held at 7 p.m. today in
W.C. Hiltz/White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where a funeral service
will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, Rev. Robert Billings officiating.
Burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings Co. Family
flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer
Society of Nova Scotia or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.

Kentville.
