Re: Obit: HILTZ, Phyllis M. [nee GRAHAM]

Hi Fran:

Thanks for your efforts to help.

I have suspicions of Rockland or New Bedford area of Mass. for some reason.

William Francis Norris Desmond was a Seaman and had at least two older siblings, also Mariners, living in that area and when his marriage ended, he possibly went Stateside.

Here in the Halifax area of N.S., we’re getting ready for another dumping Thursday evening/Friday morning. I was into Halifax on Monday and with all the narrowed street, there’s no place to push more snow from the impending new storm. Glad I’m retired and not still working in the city. My snowblower is parked by the deck, gassed up, plugged in and ready to go.

Dave.

Growing up there was an Evelyn Hiltz Dodge, Lourie Hiltz, and a Elmer and Ruby Hiltz  who were friends of mom and dad. Evelyn Hiltz Dodge worked for the GE here in Lynn and was pensioned off. She move back to St. John, New Brunswick. Lourie her brother, Elmer and Ruby  visited her here in Lynn. They came from around Truro, Nova Scotia.  Ruby and Elmer lived near Truro if not in Truro. They had one son Arthur, who would be somewhere around 85 or 86 now. If is helps you I am glad. Any other questions I will gladly answer.  Have a nice warm day.

Hi Gerry:

Thanks; a clue to check out.

I  think the first marriage ended in divorce and Mr. Desmond disappeared out of  the picture with Phyllis m/2 Mr. Hiltz sometime before  1952.

Two  queries from this obit.

How does granddaughter, Michelle (Cory)  Mitchell fit in? Is she Marlene’s daughter? By Douglas G.  Strong?

Does anyone have a death date or an obit for William Francis  Norris Desmond?

Thanks in advance.

Dave
