OBITUARY: Aubrey T. Gilroy

TRURO ­ Aubrey Thorton Gilroy, 76, 9 Mount Pleasant Boulevard, Truro,
died Sunday at home.
Born in Leamington, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late John E.
and Cynthia (Douglas) Gilroy.
He spent most of his life in the lumber industry throughout Halifax and
Cumberland counties and as a field supervisor with the Nova Scotia Forest
Products Association.
He is survived by his second wife, the former Emma Whitman; three
daughters, Joan, Carolyn (Mrs. Paul Edwards) and Vivian (Mrs. Richard
Boomer), all of Halifax; a step-daughter, Sheila (Mrs. Bernard Murphy),
Lower Sackville; two sons, David, Truro; Robert, Leamington; a step-son,
Gerald, New Glasgow; three sisters, Ena (Mrs. Arthur Forcey), Kentville;
Mrs. Edith Mitchell, Reding(sic), Mass.; Helen (Mrs. Albert Smiley),
Halifax; four brothers, Ivan, Halifax; Leonard and Carl, Musquodoboit;
Cleve, Springhill; seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Ruth E. Graham; two
sisters, Violet, Jeanette, a brother, Arnold.
The body is in the Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro, where funeral will be 2
p.m. today, Rev. Dr. Malcolm Harlow officiating, with burial in Leamington
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart
Foundation.
