Re: Obit (1998) - Donald B. MacKay

Title: Re: [nscumber] Obit (1998) - Donald B. MacKay
Hi Gerry:

Thanks. Looks like it’s not the correct Donald B.

I’ll do some bore digging on the parents to see if their obits give up any new clues.

Dave,

Here's the 1998 obituary for Donald B. MacKay... but he does not seem to be the son of Ethel Mildred Sheck.

Aug. 17, 1998 Halifax Chronicle Herald:
MacKAY, Donald B. - 84, Upper Northfield, died August 15, 1998, in the veteran's unit of Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Upper Northfield, he was a son of the late Tupper and Elva (Arenburg) MacKay. He served overseas during the Second World War with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders 1939-1945. Surviving are his brother, Franklyn, Pinehurst; sisters, Viola Morande, Marshfield, Mass.; Ethel Hall, St. Croix Cove; Minnie Wentzell, Bedford, Mass.; stepsons, Wayne Feener, Midville Branch; Ronald Feener, Alberta.; a step-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lillian Mossman. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A graveside memorial service 11 a.m. Tuesday in Upper Northfield Cemetery, Rev. Grant Walls officiating. No flowers by request. Donations to the veteran's unit of Fishermen's Memorial Hospital or any charity.

Gerry
