Rettie Wheeler of Towanda Dies Enroute to Packer
Mrs. Rettie Wheeler, 74, of 215 North Main Street, Towanda, died enroute to the Robert Packer Hospital about 12:30 this morning in the Towanda ambulance.
An autopsy performed today at the hospital revealed she had died of a heart attack.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Rogers of Towns River, N.J., Ralph Rogers of Towanda, Cecil Rogers of Bath; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Northrup of Greene's Landing, Mrs. Kenneth McIntire of Sayre and Mrs. Priscilla Hatch of Athens RD 1.
The body was removed to the Maryott funeral home, Towanda.

Rettie Wheeler Rites Are Today
Funeral service was held this afternoon for Mrs. Rettie R. Wheeler of 215 North Main street, Towanda, who died Friday.
Rev. Edgar W. Sabin of the Towanda Methodist church officiated at the service, held in the Maryott Funeral Home, and burial was in Ulster cemetery.
Born Aug. 18, 1885, in Nova Scotia, Canada, Mrs. Wheeler was the daughter of Andrew and Jane Preshaw Ripley. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and of its WSCS, and also a member of the Towanda WCTU.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Cecil Rogers of Rathburn, N.Y., Paul Rogers of Toms River, N.J., who is serving in the Navy, Ralph Rogers at home, Mrs. Carl Northrup of Athens RD 1, Mrs. Kenneth McIntyre of Sayre, Mrs. Donald Hatch of Athens RD 1; a sister, Mrs. Percilla Reed of New Brunswick, Canada; a brother, Edward Ripley of Nova Scotia; 20 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces. and nephews.
