Anyone know how “half-sister, Madelyn (Dennis) Ripley of Calgary, AB” fits into the picture?
Both her father, her mother and her step-mother’s obits make no mention of a Madelyn.

OBITUARY:
McLellan, Albert Adam - 85, 7 Winston Ave., Amherst, died June 26, 1992 in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Ward's Brook, he was a son of the late Perley and Rose (Ayer) McLellan. He went to sea for nine years; was a mechanic at several garages; and ran the pumping station for the town of Amherst for four years. He was a member of Knights of Pythias and a volunteer fireman for 27 years. He is survived by five daughters, Jessie (Mrs. Russell Ripley), Frances MacLean, Joyce (Mrs. Ron Downey), Rose (Mrs. Donnie Legere), all of Amherst; Ruth (Mrs. Doug Beaton), Pugwash; son, Foster, Amherst; two sisters, Margaret Arnburg, Parrsboro; Annabelle (Mrs. John Hamilton), Lower Sackville; brother, Leonard, New Glasgow; 30 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Rhoda May Dowe; second wife, the former Ruth Syvertsen; daughter, Elizabeth; 21 brothers and sisters. The body is in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Today, Rev. Harold Cole officiating. Burial will be follow in Amherst Cemetery.

Amherst - Mrs. Albert McLellan died Friday at her home, 7 Winston Avenue. She was born at Glasgow Mountain, daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Foster Dow. She was 58. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amherst. Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Jessie (Mrs. Russell Ripley), of Amherst; Frances (Mrs. Malcolm Burns), of Oromocto, N.B.; Joyce (Mrs. Ronald Downey), of Amherst; and Ruth, at home; one son, Foster, of Aulac, N.B.; one brother, Morton, of Parrsboro; one sister, Margaret (Mrs. Arthur Ells), of Lancaster, N.B.; 27 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. The funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dr. W.J. MacDonald officiating. Committal service was held in Highland Cemetery Chapel.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; five step-daughters, Mrs. Frances MacLean, Jessie (Mrs. Russell Ripley), Joyce (Mrs. Ron Downey) and Rose (Mrs. Don Legere), all of Amherst; Ruth (Mrs. Doug Beaton), Pugwash; a step-son, Foster, Halifax; a niece and nephew; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Obituary
The family of Jessie Barbara (McClelland) Ripley age 87 announce her
peaceful passing with her loving family at her side on Tuesday, January 27,
2015 at the Northumberland Hall, Shannex, Amherst.
Born in Parrsboro, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Rhoda (Dowe)
McClelland.
Mom was a devoted wife and mother to which she gave her entire life. She
will be forever in our hearts.
Mom will be missed by her four daughters, Linda (David) Amos of Sackville,
NB, Esther (Andy) Burgess of Port Mouton, NS, Becky Ripley (Richard) of Old
Guysborough Road, NS and Darlene (Allen) Chapman of Lindsay, ON and four
sons, Danny (Marg) of Debert, NS, Jerry (Doris) of Fenwick, NS, Steve
(Marie) of Amherst, NS, and Russell (Val) of Amherst, NS; 23 Grandchildren,
several Great Grandchildren; Brother Foster (Annie) McClelland of Moncton,
NB; Sisters Francis, Joyce both of Amherst, Ruth of Springhill and
half-sister Madelyn (Dennis) Ripley of Calgary, AB and many nieces and
nephews.
Predeceased by husband of 64 years, Russell Ripley, grandson Michael and
sister Rose.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm
at Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2 pm at
Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 667-9906 with K. Ruth
Gamble, DML officiating.
Family flowers only, please.
Interment will take place in the spring in the Amherst Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the entire
staff of Northumberland Hall for the personal and loving care she received
during her five year residence in Cumberland Lane.
