Re: Obit: TAGGART Roger Todd

Title: Re: [nscumber] Obit: TAGGART Roger Todd
Hi Read:

I agree, something is amiss. There’s only 7-8 months between Nita Irene and Franklin Robert’s births per the census.

Or, perhaps the enumerator just wrote down what he was told on census day by either Mr. or Mrs. Brownie, more likely Mrs., and didn’t do the math.

The only way to be sure of a birth date would be a baptism record. They were Anglican by faith so possibly the Anglican Church in French Village where John Willard was Baptized might have something. Also a burial record for Robert James Taggart?

Dave,
I think the census got Neta's birth year wrong.

Her gravestone shows her birth year as 1904  (DCS_4173.JPG  Dec. 5, 2010)

If she was 90 when she died she was born  between Jan. 10, 1904 and Jan. 9, 1905
If the census was correct in the month of birth, she would have been born between Jan. 10 and Jan 31, 1904

Hi Read:

Robert James Taggart must have died sometime after 1902 but before 1905. His widow remarried.

Thank You.

I saw the obit in the newspaper but couldn’t  make the “Parrsboro” connection so didn’t collect it at the  time.

Minnie remarried to Arthur Brownie Oct.23, 1905 as a widow. I could  not find a death record for Robert James Taggart. Since there youngest child  Neta was born in January 1904, Robert J. probably died sometime between  April 1903 and October 1905
Roger's  adopted great grandparents were James Taggart and Sarah Elizabeth  McAloney.
