WEDDING: Johnstone - Kieley
A marriage of interest to many friends took place at 8 o'clock on Wednesday
evening, August 2nd at the home of the bride's mother, when Alice Eileen,
only daughter of Mrs. Daniel Kieley and the late Mr. Kieley became the bride
of Thomas Alton Johnstone, only son of the late Duncan Johnstone, of Salem
[sic, New Salem]. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W.H. Rackham, pastor of
Trinity United Church. The marriage took place beneath an arch of roses, in
the presence of immediate friends and relatives. The bride was becomingly
attired in a street length dress of navy sheer with matching accessories and
carried a bouquet of red roses and maiden hair-fern. Mr. and Mrs. Johnstone
will reside in Parrsboro. Previous to her marriage the bride was tendered a
shower at which she received many beautiful and useful gifts when a large
number of friends assembled at the home of her mother.
