Department of Transportation for more than 25 years and was Superintendent

positions as well as Caravan leader and Sunday school teacher. He was
instrumental in the renovation of Big Lake Camp as well as co-chair of the
committee that built the Northumberland Athletic Park (located beside OREC).
Just a farm boy at heart, Jack loved the outdoors, John Wayne, Louis Lamour,
and was lovingly referred to as MacGyver when he frequently fixed things
with duct tape and baler twine or bandaged his own injuries with Kleenex and
electric tape. He lived life to the fullest; he loved storytelling, pie and
most of all his family. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday,
January 19 in MacDiarmid¹s Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford
(902-447-2930). A service of celebration for Jack¹s life will be held at 2
p.m. Tuesday, January 20 in the Church of the Nazarene, Oxford. In lieu of
flowers, donations in Jack¹s memory can be made to Birch Grove Cemetery, Big
Lake Camp or the charity of your choice. Private condolences may be sent to
