OBITUARY: Archie Grant
The death of Archie Grant, 66, of Ashburton Place, Mass., retired plumber,
occurred at Brighton Marine Hospital, Brighton, Mass., on Friday, February
28.
Mr. Grant was born in Advocate, N.S., and for some 15 years made his home in
Springhill before moving to Cambridge, Mass., where he has resided for the
past 35 years.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, the former Catherine Merlin of
Springhill; three sons, Ronald, John and William, and four daughters, Mrs.
Evelyn McKinley, Mrs. Eunice Tighe, Mrs. Eileen McGuirk, and Mrs. June
Walker. One brother, John, ten grandchildren and one great-grandson also
survive. His brother, Charlie, died a few days later on March 5th.
The funeral service was held on Monday, March 2nd, from the Watson Chapel
with the Rev. Lynn C. Smith, First Baptist Church officiating.
Interment was made in the Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury.
Among those who attended the funeral was Mrs. Flora Wry, a sister of Mrs.
Grant.

Charlie Grant
Following the death of his brother Archie on February 28th, Charlie Grant
passed away in the Providence Hospital March 5. He had been ill fore some
time and in January had undergone a lung operation. Funeral services were
held on March 9th in Providence.
