JOAN EVA MILLER
MILLER, JOAN EVA - 1921 - 2010 - Moncton - The death of Joan Eva (Orton) Miller, 88, occurred with her loving family at her side on Saturday, February 6th, 2010 at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home. Born in Birmingham, England on June 25th, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Pelham) Orton. Joan is survived by and will sadly be missed by her husband Ross; son, Brian (Caroline) of Moncton; two grandchildren Shawn (Katya) and Vicki (Ronald) and four great grandchildren, Brady, Grace, Chloe and Riley. She is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Reginald) Stockall. Joan was educated in Moncton. She worked for many years in the Mail Order Department of the T. Eaton Company. She was a communicant of St. Philip's Anglican Church, the Canadian Legion Auxiliary, the Penobsquis Woman's Institute and the Anglican Church Women. She was also active in bowling leagues and the #31 Dart League. By the family's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. Philip's Anglican Church at 30 Lynch Street, Moncton, NB, on Thursday, February 11th, 2010 at 11am with Reverend Father Kevin Borthwick and Reverend Canon Kevin Stockall officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception in the church hall to which all relatives and friends are invited. Interment will take place in Elmwood cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Diabetic Association, the St. Philip's Anglican Church or to the memorial of the donor's choice.
