Capt. William Coughlin Hatfield of Port Greville

William Coughlin Hatfield is thought to have had 3 separate relationships.

He m/1, 6 Feb 1894 at Port Greville, Sarah Grace Miller, born St. John's,
Newfoundland with issue of 5 children, 2 of whom died in infancy. I believe
this marriage ended in a divorce/separation.

Sarah is believed to have been a sister to Elizabeth Miller, born St.
John's, Nfld., who m/1 21 Nov 1897 at Port Greville, William's brother,
Oswald Burton Hatfield.

In 1921, Sarah is in Springhill working as a housekeeper with the 3
surviving children while William is living with his 1st cousin in Port
Greville. Sarah may possibly have gone Stateside to Cape Cod, Mass. sometime
after 1924 when Daryl died. There is no death record for her in Nova Scotia.

He was then in a "relationship" with the widow, Jershua Ann Wilson (Cole)
Hatfield until she passed away 25 Mar 1928 at Port Greville. He is the
informant on her death record but lists himself as a "cousin".

He m/3, 24 Aug 1937 at St. Stephen, N.B., Violet Marion May Fraser, a lady
almost half his age.
