OBITUARY: Leopold Morris
Advocate, Dec. 28 - Leopold Morris, a lifetime resident of Advocate, passed
away on Thursday morning, Dec. 20 at the home of his son, Willard Morris
where he had made his home for the past two months. Born in Advocate 82
years ago, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jess Morris. He had been in
poor health for a long time, but up until a few months ago was a familiar
figure on the street of the village every day and was always a regular
attendant at church.
He is survived by three sons, Willard, of Advocate; Roland, of Timmons,
Ont.; and Stanley, of Boston; and two daughters, (Marjorie) Mrs. Wilburt
Porteous, Tatamagouche; Vinnie (Mrs. Ben Goldstein), Conn; also, several
half-sisters and brothers. His family all visited him this fall.
The funeral was held on Saturday at 2 p.m., from the home of his son,
Willard, conducted by Rev. H.W. Forsythe. The hymns sung by the choir were
"The Old Rugged Cross", "O God Our Help In Ages Past" and "When The Roll Is
Called Up Yonder".
