Subject: [nscumber] More Halliday confusion!!!! James Halladay/Haliday & Mary Grant

Hi all!

Just recently received DNA results from Ancestry... 23% Great Britain, 14% Ireland... both include possible Scottish descent, not as detailed as I thought it would be but does show a match with one person I have viewed so far who shares DNA with us... This means she and I share Great Great Grandparents who would be John Halliday m 1848 Sarah McKeown OR Great Great Great Grandparents where the mystery lies! This person's family tree shows James Halladay and Mary Grant of New Brunswick, Canada, child Mabel Louise Halladay b 11 May 1878 Parrsboro, Nova Scotia d 27 May 1931 m 2 Sep 1899 Anson, Maine, John Ford Gibson.. Death record for Mabel shows parents as James Haliday b Nova Scotia, Mary Haliday b Nova Scotia.~ Marriage record shows same parents however states born N.B. Residence for James stated as Cumberland NB, occupation Laborer. (I know Cumberland is in Nova Scotia) ~ No dates for birth or death... Mary Grant is deceased prior to 2 Sep 1899. I would estimate birth of James as 1840-1858.... Has anyone come across this couple?
