Re: Jim Cooper of Moncton; Springhill connected

Title: Re: [nscumber] Jim Cooper of Moncton; Springhill connected
Hi Bliss:

Thanks for the input.

Since Jim’s birth was possibly registered as Cooper from day one, perhaps “Did” had an unmarried relationship with a Cooper lady resulting in the birth of Jim? Anyway, I think I’ll give “Did” an extra un-named spouse to place Jim for the time being.

I think there were Cooper’s in Springhill at the time per the Moss Journal.

Years from now after we’re both long gone, NSARM Vitals will eventually release Jim’s birth record and someone down the road will know for sure.

David,

Hilson and Hattie were neighbors for at least 40 years, never heard of Mr. Cooper so I believe he was at a distance. "Did" as Hilson was called by all, was a character without limits. Known in our midst as the fellow that fished with dynamite rather than with a rod and line.

So many of the old neighborhood are gone ..........sort of wish I had spent more time back then chatting with them more.

The only conclusion I can come up with at the moment is Jim/James Cooper was
either adopted or fostered by Harry Hilson MacLeod and his wife, Hattie Mae
Lewis of Springhill.

In Harry Hilson MacLeod's obit, he's referred to as a son.

In Keith Lewis MacLeod's obit, he's referred to as a half-brother.

In Hattie Mae Lewis' obit, he's not referred to at all.
