SIMPSON, Shawn David*
Age 30, Edmonton, Alta. and formerly of Oxford, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 in Edmonton. Born in
Springhill, he was the son of Dale and Kathy Simpson. Shawn grew up in Oxford and graduated from ORHS and later from Success College, Truro. He enjoyed playing hockey, and played for various teams in the Cumberland
County Minor Hockey Association and also liked playing the guitar. Shawn eventually moved to Alberta for work, finally settling in Edmonton. Shawn is survived by mother, Kathy, Amherst; father, Dale, Oxford; sister, Sara Simpson, Halifax; also many extended family and friends including grandparents, uncles and aunts. He was predeceased by grandmother, Laureen Simpson. The family will receive visitors Friday, February 21 from 2-4 p.m., in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 5075 Main St., Oxford (447-2930).
