Doctor Ronald J.R.G. Cormier

May 16, 1942 - December 24, 2013

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories we announce the passing of Ron on
Tuesday, 24 December 2013 at the Glace Bay Health Care Corp. after four very
courageous and difficult years of failing health including the loss of
personal mobility.

Ron was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia and was the son of the late Clarence
and Anzelica Cormier.

Ron graduated from St. Charles School and Amherst Regional High School where
he was a popular student known to always pay attention in class but never
took home a book and always had high marks. Ron¹s career took him into
military service including graduation from the Dental program at Dalhousie
University. Ron served in several places including Queen Charlotte Islands
in British Columbia. Ron served patients in Halifax, Cape Breton and Fisher
Branch, Manitoba and taught at CBU Dental School.

Music always was a big part of Ron¹s life. Singing and playing guitar and
mandolin at home and at Country Festivals were at the top of his list of fun
things to do. Ron sang in the St Charles Church choir and was a member of
the Church Scola quartet. The well known music scene in Cape Breton was a
treasure to Ron and he enjoyed being a participant in several groups notably
"The Peach Chords".

Left to remember him and mourn his passing are his wife, Cynthia, son,
Scott (Melissa), grandson, Hunter and sisters, Louise Beal (Ralph), Marlene
Cormier and fiancée (Paul); three nieces, Michelle, Susan and Catherine who
brought a twinkle to Ron¹s eyes and many nephews, as well as his dear
friends, Roy and Shauna Peach.

Ron was predeceased by his former wife, Norma (MacAulay), parents, Clarence
and Anzelica, his sister, Yvonne and brothers, Reginald, Ervil, Raymond and
William, as well as family, many close friends in various provinces of
Canada.

Ron¹s family and friends would like to express their thanks to the staff at
the Glace Bay Health Care Corp., Halifax Infirmary and the Nova Scotia
Rehabilitation Center for the constant and excellent care he received. At
Ron¹s request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place under
the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Online
condolences to the Cormier family are available through www.vjmcgillivray.ca
