Barbara Larsen
Barbara Dora (Boomer) Larsen, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Castle Medical Center in Kailua, Hawaii. The former Barbara Boomer was born on March 9, 1928, in the Town of Moncton, New Brunswick Canada to parents Herbert and Florence (Atkinson) Boomer. Barbara spent most of her childhood years in Amherst, Nova Scotia Canada before graduating from Acadia University in 1948 at Wolfville, New Brunswick Canada with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1950, Barbara was united in marriage to the late Dr. William Larsen. Barbara was a powerful source of integrity, wit, and wisdom. She enjoyed reading, writing and boat outings on Lake Mendota with her family during her earlier years in Madison. She was an avid Packer fan wherever she called home. Barbara was gifted in her ability to influence and touch the lives of people of all walks of life. She left behind many friends that enjoyed her company, her stories and her reassuring words. She was a resourceful woman who managed to overcome the many highs and lows of life to find comfort with her family of friends at The First Baptist Church of Honolulu. As a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, Barbara will be fondly remembered by her children Carl Larsen of Carlsbad, CA, Ruth Larsen of Valley Village, CA, John (Theresa) Larsen of Houston, TX, Bill (Tina) Larsen of McFarland, WI, Blair (Heidi) Larsen of Sarasota, FL, Bruce (Theresa) Larsen of Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Delbert (Heather) Larsen, Andrew Nulman, Daniel Nulman, Erica Larsen, Kyle Larsen, Sean Larsen, Nicole Larsen, Mitchell Larsen, Cody Larsen; and a great-grandson, Tristen Larsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Carl Boomer, and her husband Dr. William Larsen. On April 24, 2010, a memorial service, officiated by Pastor Barry Lovett, was held at the First Baptist Church in Honolulu, Hawaii.

OBITUARY:
Herbert L. Boomer, 77, 44 Eddy St., Amherst, will be buried today following
funeral service at Campbell's Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Dr. W.J. MacDonald
officiating. He was the son of the late Winslow and Loretta Graham Boomer of
West Amherst. He was a veteran of the First World War, and was formerly
employed by the C.N.R. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Atkinson;
one daughter, Barbara (Mrs. William Larsen), Madison, Wis.; six
grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. C.L. Knowlton,
Parrsboro; and Mrs. Ernest Deming, Middleton. A son, Carl, and an ***infant
daughter, Ida Ruth*** are dead. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
