I'm trying to determine if his daughter, Thelma Gamble is the same Thelma
who m/1 Murray Alexander.

Gamble, Florence Beatrice -- 84, Debert, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011
in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Wentworth, she was a
daughter of the late Leonard and Lettie Hughes of Londonderry. She is
survived by sons, Aubrey (Christine), Lower Onslow, Michael (Kimberly),
Peace River, Alta.; daughters, Carol (William) Pictou, ***Thelma (Murray)
Alexander, both of Debert***; sisters, Elizabeth Hiltz, Chester Basin,
Muriel Hughes and Bernice Hughes, both of Halifax. Mom was blessed with six
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who gave her much joy and many
smiles. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Carl; infant
daughter, Judith; sister, Marian Jennings; brother, Lewis Hughes. To allow
time for all family members to come home, funeral services will be held on
Wednesday, July 27th at 2:00 pm with visitation preceding the service on
Wednesday from 1-2 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow
Street, Truro with Rev. Don MacQueen officiating. Reception following the
service. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to a charity of your choice. On-line condolences may

Obituary - ALEXANDER, Angus Lloyd - Passed away July 3, 1998, in Colchester
Regional Hospital, Truro, after a lengthy illness. Born in Diligent River,
Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late James and Winifred (Yorke)
Alexander. Angus joined the army in July 1941, serving in England with the
11th AA Light Artillery. While in Edinburgh on leave, he met his Scottish
lass, Mary Ellen, whom he married in November 1943, and then returned to
Canada. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 106,
Debert, and a member of Debert Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife,
the former Mary Ellen Murray, Masstown; daughters, Elizabeth (Ralph)
Campbell, Orillia, Ont.; Judy (Peter) Beazley, Toronto; Beverly (Gordon Jr.)
Blair, Bible Hill; Caroline (Ronnie) Blair, North River; Darlene (Mike)
Irving, Masstown; sons, John (Peggy), Whitby, Ont.; ***Murray (Thelma),
Debert***; sisters, Betty Crossman, Debert; Glenda Young, Stewiacke;
brother, Gordon, Edmonton; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several
nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brother, Royce; sisters,
Eveleen Bird, Irene Smith; granddaughter, Tina Marie Blair; step-grandson,
Lenny Irving. Visitation will be today from 7-9:30 p.m., Debert Legion 106
tribute service will be today at 7 p.m, funeral service will be Sunday at 2
p.m., all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev.
Cyril Mersereau officiating. Burial in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. Family

Alexander, Mary ³Ellen² Moffatt (Murray) 92, Masstown
We the family of Mary Ellen Moffatt Alexander (Murray) regret to announce
the passing of our loving Mum on Sunday, November 4, 2012 in Colchester
Regional Hospital, Truro, with her family at her side. Born in bonnie,
Edinburgh, Scotland, February 16, 1920, she was a daughter of the late James
and Elizabeth Murray and loving wife of the late Angus Alexander. Ellen and
Angus met in Scotland during the war and were married November 6, 1943
before arriving in Canada at Pier 21 in Halifax aboard the ³Aquatania² with
bonnie lass Elizabeth in tow. She is lovingly survived by her children,
Elizabeth (Ralph), Judy, John (Peggy), Beverly (Gordon), ***Murray
(Thelma)***, Caroline (Ronnie), Darlene (Mike) and many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Canada
and bonnie Scotland. Also survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law,
Ileen Alexander, Betty Crossman, Glenda Young, Eileen Giddens and Ken Smith.
She was predeceased by her grand-daughter,Tina Marie Blair, step-grandson,
Lenny Irving, son-in-law, Peter Beazley. Ellen worked at the Masstown Market
for many years beginning in 1972 and made numerous friends within the
community and was loved by many. Visitation will be held on Thursday,
November 8 from 7-9 pm with funeral service on Friday at 2 pm, both in
Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, Pastor Bill
Martin officiating. Interment in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. Donations in
her memory may be made to The War Amps or a charity of choice. Live
