    Your Isaac would be 17 in 1838.It appears from the 1838 census that A,(prob. for Amistad)and wife has 3 sons over 14 and Isaac and wife has 2 sons over 14.

   I have Isaac Mills in the 1817 Shore District census.This would be Kempt Township.He is shown with 2 boys,1 woman and 2 girls.This would appear to be your Isaac who has the two sons.One son was Isaac born in 1821 who m. Eliza Lake.Isaac and Eliza had Henry Pope MillsBut I also have Amistad Mills with two sons in 1817 so he may be the father of Isaac.A look at the childrens names may help to solve the puzzle.Does this sound correct?
