Daniel Perfect, New Waterford Born in 28/02/1949 at New Waterford , Nova Scotia , Canada - On this day we are sad to announce the passing of Daniel Perfect. He died peacefully May 18, 2009, at the Glace Bay Health Care Facility while surrounded by close friends and family. Born in New Waterford, Feb. 28, 1949, Danny was the son of his now deceased parents, Joey and Hester Perfect. At the age of 17 he began working in the Cape Breton Coal mines and continued to work for Devco until he retired 32 years later. In 1972 he married Theresa Marie McDonald at Saint Agnes parish. He remarried her again 25 years later at that same church in 1997. His deep love for her was obvious, genuine and will be known long beyond his passing. His goal in life was to ensure those around him were happier than they were before meeting with him. Whether it be through trickery, pranks, jokes, song, or just plain honesty, Danny brightened the faces and hearts of both young and old. He enjoyed playing Tarabish, the occasional cold beer, and listening to music. At wedding receptions he would jive from beginning to end. Danny had more close friends and family members than is commonly heard of. His huge heart, warm smile and wacky sense of comedy will surely be missed by all who had the privelege of spending time with him. Danny is survived by his wife, Theresa; and his sons, Danny and Ronnie, Ronnie's spouse Joanna Gouthro and granddaughter Somer Perfect. Also surviving are sisters, Elizebeth Cameron, Rose Poirier; brothers, Timmy, Gerard and John Joe Perfect. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Mclellan. Being family orineted, Danny's nephews and nieces, Tyler and Jessie Degiobbi, Shara Chambers, Travis and Tiffany McInnis, Dion, Emily and Timmy Jr. Perfect often referred to him as their second grandfather (Poppa). Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Saturday, May 23 at 10 a.m in the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Agnes Church with Fr. Doug MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow with a luncheon to be held at St. Agnes Hall immediately following the funeral mass. Burial will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca. YES YES YES

As he has a surviving step-daughter, Mrs. Marg MacKinnon, did Eileen have a
previous relationship before marrying him?
