Lane (Durning), Helen Rose

Helen Rose (Durning) Lane, 89, of Florence, S.C., died Thursday, October 24, 2013, in McLeod Hospice House. Helen was born in Parrsboro, a daughter of the late Samuel Graham Durning and Susan Rose (McLellan) Durning. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Lane; her parents; sisters, Dorothy (Bill) Hunt, Florence (LeRoy) Faulkner, Beryl (Clinton) McKay; and step-mother, Mary Florence Durning. Surviving are her brothers, Robert G. (Janine) Durning of Dartmouth; William H. (Lucie) Durning of Ottawa, Ont.; brother-in-law, LeRoy Faulkner of Economy; special friend, Grace Miner of Florence, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 1, in Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.
