Hi Penny

James King was my uncle, do you have a the obituary’s for Currie and Emma Langille who lived on 62 County Street in

Taunton Mass. USA. Emma was a King and Jim was her brother. There was a sister as well, Annie King who married Stephen Sullivan, I believe she moved to Florida to be with her daughter after he passed away but I have no proof of that.

Whatever you have would be appreciated.

Deceased Name: James Fleming King
LONG BEACH -- Long Beach resident James F. King, 93, died July 4, 2006, in a local care center. The son of Oliver and Florence (Tuttle) King, he was born July 25, 1912, in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada. He grew up and received his education in Pugwash.

Moving to Massachusetts, he met Obeline (Belle) and they were married Dec. 13, 1941. Five days later with the outbreak of World War II he left for duty in the Canadian army. He served the next five years in the European Theatre as a messenger and dispatcher. Returning from the war, he and his family lived in Massachusetts prior to moving to California in 1948. They settled in the San Fernando Valley where he worked as a technician in a ceramics manufacturing plant. With retirement he and his wife moved to the Oregon City area and in 1994 to Long Beach.

Mr. King was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Seaview. He was an avid golfer and worked part-time at the Long Beach Golf Course in past years. He also enjoyed watching all types of sports, reading and traveling, especially trips to his native Canada. He was a devoted husband and father and he dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always there to lend a helping hand and he also enjoyed an occasional glass of wine.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Gayle and Bob Ives of Long Beach; son John Jamieson and daughter-in-law Norma of Scotts Valley, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was held Friday, July 7, at Ilwaco Cemetery with burial next to his wife who died in 1996. Arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach. Copyright, 2006, Chinook Observer (Long Beach, WA). All Rights Reserved.
