Please Help me. My father Neil unfortunately passed away on September 6, 2000. I had not spoken to my father for many years. I have an Aunt named Joan Pettis. My wife and I are having a family and I would like to get in touch with her. Last I knew she was in South Florida. Please help me if you can.

I have a reference that Neil Henry Pettis was born 10 Nov 1944 at Astoria, Long Island, New York per a birth announcement in the Parrsboro Record, Tuesday, November 28, 1944, pg. #4.

His mother’s name wasn’t mentioned and I don’t have the article.

I would assume Lorne Onsby Pettis m/1 later in life in the early 1940’s somewhere at New York after the 1940 American Census.

OBITUARY: Lorne O. Pettis
Lorne O. Pettis, a native of Parrsboro, died in a New York Hospital on Sunday, August 17, after a few months of ill health. Born in Parrsboro, sixty years ago, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Pettis. During the First World War, he served Overseas with the Canadian Army and for the past thirty five years he lived in New York. Mr. Pettis frequently visited his home town of Parrsboro and the word of his death was received with deep regret by many friends here. Surviving are his wife and two children, Neil and Joan, in New York; two sisters, Mrs. L.M. Davis of Belmont, Calif.; and Mrs. R.F. Spear, Sunnyvale, Calif.; four brothers, Morris Pettis of Parrsboro; Fred of Truro; Murray and Thornton in New York; and a half brother, Wylie Perris in Delmar, Calif. Interment will be made in New York.
