OBITUARY: Lorne O. Pettis
Lorne O. Pettis, a native of Parrsboro, died in a New York Hospital on Sunday, August 17, after a few months of ill health. Born in Parrsboro, sixty years ago, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Pettis. During the First World War, he served Overseas with the Canadian Army and for the past thirty five years he lived in New York. Mr. Pettis frequently visited his home town of Parrsboro and the word of his death was received with deep regret by many friends here. Surviving are his wife and two children, Neil and Joan, in New York; two sisters, Mrs. L.M. Davis of Belmont, Calif.; and Mrs. R.F. Spear, Sunnyvale, Calif.; four brothers, Morris Pettis of Parrsboro; Fred of Truro; Murray and Thornton in New York; and a half brother, Wylie Perris in Delmar, Calif. Interment will be made in New York.
