BOUCHER, Harriett Marie 77, of Aldershot, Kings Co., passed away Saturday,
July 4, 2009, in Coldbrook, at the home of her daughter. Born in Guysborough
County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Clowery and Florence (Morris)
(Clowery) Smith. She was raised in Kentville and attended Kings County
Academy. In 1954, after her marriage, she moved to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., until
1957 when she and her family moved to Santa Maria, Calif., returning to
Kentville in 1965. She was then employed at Zeller's until her retirement.
She was a member of Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot, where she
taught Explorers and Sunday School. She is survived by son, Robert (Sandy)
and grandson, Ryan, Amherst; daughter, Nancy (Will) Brown, Aldershot and
grandchildren, Stefan, Kayla and Shelby; daughter, Janet (Robert) Bond,
Coldbrook and granddaughters, Alicia and Erica. She was predeceased by her
husband, Leo in 2005; sister, Delta George in 1995. We know she will be
greatly missed by her good friends, Joan Martin and Muriel Benjamin, who
were always there to talk to her. There will be no visitation, by request.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, in Bethany
Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot, Rev. Thelma McLeod officiating. Burial
will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings Co. Family flowers
only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Breast
Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Halifax Herald
