For Edith Bentley Wortman: She died 11/26/1982 in East Windsor, CT(SSDI). Her husband, Leonard T. Wortman died 11/1967 in Springfield, MA(SSDI). They had moved into MA during the 1940's and for some time in the 1950's they were stewards at the Greenfield Club. I had been given Edith's middle name as Cora several years ago, but could never verify it.

 

Hilda J. Bentley and her twin, Helene M. Bentley were born in Diligent River on 9/30/1905.(They applied for their delayed births -Helene in 1941 and Hilda in 1942. (NSARM). In 1940, Hilda was living in Contra Costa, CA, w/her husband, M.C. McLemore. They had been living in Miami, FL in 1935.

 

Meanwhile, her sister, Helene, came through Calais, ME on 8/6/1941, to live w/her sister Bessie(Byard) Bennett, who lived in Norwood, MA at the time.

 

They were living together in Santa Monica, CA by the 1950's, working as attendants for a VA hospital. Hilda was divorced. Couldn't follow them after that, but they ended up in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, where they both died in the same Nursing home. Helene died 12/14/1994(OH cert#099987) and Hilda died 10/22/1996(OH cert#082268). Just thought it was an interesting story.
