OBITUARY: Greta Maude Byers
Truro - Greta Maude Byers, 76, 34 Blanchard Ave., Truro, died Thursday in
Colchester Hospital, Truro. Born in Lower Onslow, she was a daughter of the
late George and Mary Jane Staples. She was a member of the Salvation Army,
Truro Corps. She is survived by three daughters, Doreen (Mrs. John
VanBuren), Ottawa; Eileen (Mrs. Gary MacDonald), Halifax; Dianna (Mrs. Bruce
Ellis), Calgary, Alta.; two sons, Roy Weatherbee, Ontario; Curtis
Weatherbee, Truro; a brother, Jack, Montreal; several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John; a brother,
Joseph. The body has been donated to medical research. Memorial service will
be 2 p.m., today in Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro. Major H.J. Henderson and
Captain Wilfred Harbin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to Nova Scotia Heart Foundation.
