Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of Ronald Eric Chapman age 89 of
Amherst and formerly of Amherst Head announce his sudden passing on Friday,
October 4, 2013 at home just two days after the celebration of their sixty
fifth wedding anniversary.
Born in Lorneville, Cumberland County he was a son of the late Percy and
Elsie (Jackson) Chapman.
Ron maintained a beef farm most of his life, he was always at the (beck and
call) for anyone in the community to help. He spent years driving a truck, a
snow plow operator and for fifteen years he was a school bus driver.
What others would call work it was recreation for him, his wood lot on the
family farm.
He loved both telling and the hearing of a good story.
He is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Black) Chapman, three sons Lester
(Marg) of British Columbia, Brian and Henry (Patricia) both of Amherst, a
special daughter in law Jennifer McKinnon of Sydney Mines, NS, a (son by
choice) Layton (Maureen) O¹Brien of Ottawa, grandchildren Ronald, Susan,
Laura, Erin, Nick, Sandra, Leslie and Erin, thirteen great grandchildren,
sister Marion Embree of Amherst and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by a son Charlie, a sister Irene
and brothers Curtis, Glenn and Allison.
In keeping with Ron¹s wishes there will be no funeral service and cremation
has taken place.
Family, neighbours and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life held on
Monday, October 7, 2013 from 2 - 4 p.m. at Campbell¹s Funeral Home, Amherst,
NS. (902-667-9906)
Following with interment in the Amherst Head Cemetery, Beecham Road -
everyone invited.
K. Ruth Gamble will officiate.

Sunrise Trinity Church, Amherst Head or the charity of your choice.
