Title: Re: [nscumber] James Card of River Hebert
Mona (Melanson) Card is d/o Laurent Lorong Melanson (1886-1960) and Ina N. Burbine (1893-1981).
She obviously m/2 William John “Scotty” Sinclair after Frederick Stephen Card died in 1963.
Perhaps Mona left Frederick before 1963 as there’s no mention of a wife in his accident article, just his four young children?
Odd Scotty mentions no step-children in his obit as wife, Mona survives him and would possibly have a say in the writing of his obit.

I think James Card is the actually s/o Frederick Stephen Card and Mona
Melanson. When his father drowned in the Maccan River at River Hebert,
James, the youngest child, was adopted by his paternal aunt, Opal Verna Card
and her hubby, Herman MacNeil. Opal's obit mentions "Chosen Son, Jimmy
(Frances) Card".
Odd Opal's obit was as Card, Opal Verna with no reference to hubby, Herman
McNeil/MacNeil.
Sister, Vickie MacNeil/McNeil? (m/1 William Jollymore) would actually be his
1st cousin. This William Jollymore would be s/o William "Bill" Jollymore and
Elvenia "Allie" Smith. William "Bill" Jollymore's obit was posted yesterday.
However, there is no mention of James' oldest sister, Judy Card.
Another query; if Linda Vance is Opal Verna's step-granddaughter, then would
that make Linda a d/o Frances (?) before Frances m/1 James Card? Matthew and
Kyle are listed as straight grandchildren.
Gads, genealogy can become complicated sometimes.
